France, Greece and the Return of Economic Insanity

Author The two nations in the worst economic shape, whose antics over the past decades threatened to crush the EU and much of the rest of the world’s economy, don’t really seem to give a damn. At least their voters don’t.
Unhappy with “austerity” voters have put a socialist into power in France, where the same socialist party stands to assume complete control of that nations government, and in Greece there simply is no government now. The number two party wants to dump the entire bailout. The lead party admits it can’t get a coalition without appeasing that group and the number 3 party at the very least wants to “renegotiate”. More interesting and destabilizing is the fact that if these three groups can’t, in order of percentage, establish some majority coalition it all goes back to the voters again. How many guesses do we need to know what they’ll do next time, knowing what they managed to accomplish this time? Anyone for a Golden Dawn majority?
In short, Europeans want to continue to retire at 60-62, get two months of paid vacations and continue to get “free” healthcare while their governments tax the “rich” at 75% and then wonder why their economies continue to die. These people really do not seem to understand that their is not only no free lunch, there’s no cheap one, either. If you want government to pay for everything then government has to have most of your income. If you don’t like higher taxes then you do with less government.
But these people represent what this nation is becoming: They want it all, they want it for free, and they want some mythical group of “1%” to pay for it while keeping strong economies and jobs. As long as those jobs aren’t too difficult, “degrading” or require too many years of actual work. That this is impossible doesn’t seem to compute with them.
That they are gambling on dragging first Europe and then the world down with them isn’t something they even seem to care about. But it’s US Citizens who are supposedly unaware of and unconcerned about the rest of the globe. Personally, with these two elections and the way the rest of the year seems poised to go in Europe I think that old meme will have to be revised. It’s way too much of Europe that doesn’t have a clue or give a damn in the face of their own narcissism.
In the long run it’s we who will get to pay for their stupidity. Again.

UPDATE 6:00PM: The claim is that someone hacked into the site and attached a Trojan in an effort to “discredit” the site. Now dispensing with the obvious, that the site completely discredits both itself and Obama, does this smell like diversion to anyone else? Those Evil Right Wing Conspiracy Tea Partiers did it! They are trying to make the poor president look bad(as if he needs help).

UPDATE Midnight: AttackWatch has become the laughingstock and embarrassment of the net perhaps faster than any other website in history. Every single thing about it has conspired to humiliate Owebama. That he could employ such incompetent people to create such a creepy and offensive site is not the least of the negative reflections on this failure of a regime leader. Why The Debt Hike Will Screw America
It’s no secret that Washington is drowning us in red ink.
As Dave Ramsey recently put it, “If the US Government was a family, they would be making $58,000 a year, they spend $75,000 a year & have $327,000 in credit card debt. They are currently proposing BIG spending cuts to reduce their spending to $72,000 a year. These are the actual proportions of the federal budget & debt, reduced to a level that we can understand.” Not surprisingly, Dagong Global Credit Rating Company – the top credit rating agency of China – immediately downgraded us from AAA to A+. Standard & Poor’s was soon to follow, downgrading us from a AAA rating to AA+. After squandering every resource imaginable from the prior 78 debt hikes in the last 60 years, it seemed inevitable that yet another one was coming.
The current regime made some startling claims to jam through what appears to be the largest debt hike in American history. One was that we had to save America from default. Next, that Congress has never failed to lift the debt ceiling. There’s a few problems with both claims. First thing first, even many proponents of the debt lift have conceded that we aren’t nearing default. Secondly, we seem to forget the year 1996, when the GOP refused to hike the debt limit under President Clinton. But never mind. We can’t let the facts get in the way of a “good crisis.”
According to Jeff Deist, all we had to do was return to 2003 spending levels. Pretty simple, right?
Another indication that this “crisis” was overblown was that both sides insisted on special perks. Republicans demanded an unlikely Balanced Budget Amendment, while Democrats couldn’t resist using the crisis to their advantage, demanding tax hikes, which are not typical in a debt hike bill. The Balanced Budget Amendment was spat into the trash can, while tax hikes remain a possibility for the “Super-Congress.”
More on that in a little bit.
The Obama Regime is now responsible for signing the two largest debt hikes in American history into law. This nation cannot afford for victims of the broken window fallacy to bluff the sheeple much longer. Thanks to the wisdom of our dear overlords, they borrowed $239 billion the day after the debt hike. That’s the largest one-day bump in history. Those who ushered in this regime can pat themselves on the back if the goal was, indeed, to make history.
But enough about them, Congress did the unthinkable by allowing the President to take matters into his own hands once this “new money” dries up. How quickly Congress evades its responsibility as a check on the presidency. When they can’t take the heat, they reach for the hose. Which means the gates will continue to be flooded. Indeed, Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution states that “the Congress shall have the power … to borrow money on the credit of the United States.” The “solution” to this problem, saith the Washingtonians, is not to act now, but to set the table for a future date. In the context of the “Budget Control Act,” that means granting enormous powers to the biggest hacks in Washington. This only ensures more backroom dealing and less public scrutiny.
Why is this being created?
To kick the can down the road, that’s number one. The very creation of the super-committee is a sign that Congress failed to bind itself – as well as the current administration – to a sustainable course. Rather, it became “hike now, cut later.” If ever.
Number two, to weed out any outside influences, especially the Tea Party, which has taken blame from both sides of the aisle. When Washington feels the need to jam through an unpopular agreement, the most basic principles of republicanism are thrown in the fire.
We are told that this “Super-Congress” was necessary to create a deficit-reduction bill, so expect more “compromise” that no rational human being would approve of, and expect your representatives to be powerless as ever in initiating any sanity whatsoever. Moreover, this super-committee has been given unprecedented power as far as joint committees are concerned. For example, no filibusters or amendments will be allowed. This ensures plenty of support from the yes-men in Congress, more prone to stand on power than principle. This super-committee is also guaranteed an up-or-down vote.
Obviously, none of these measures will solve our debt problem. They only serve to embolden the powers that be. The past several weeks amounted to nothing more than a Machiavellian freak show.
When the time comes for this “super-committee” to reduce the deficit, we can expect nothing short of another national embarrassment.

Somewhere out there, driving by in a Smart Car, someone will see your home glowing in the darkness of leftist enviro-babble and you alone will be responsible for their blood pressure spike! Take comfort in the knowledge that soon they will be venting hot air into the environment as they rant about that horrible person with all the lights on.

Nuclear Fear Mongering
It’s pretty much unbelievable to me that the media has taken the events in Japan and run with them in the fashion they have. If anything should convince us the media truly believes the viewers are idiots…and panders to the minority that actually are…the gleeful reporting of the supposedly impending Armageddon of the Fukushima Diiachi crisis should do the trick. From PMSNBC to FOX these people seem convinced their readers and viewers are expecting…
And sadly too many people seem to be validating the media’s contempt. All across the Interwebs it’s the End of The World as We Know It(tm).
Can we have a reality check? First the bad: 3 nuclear reactors have experienced hydrogen explosions. Those explosions have blown the concrete shells off the housing buildings. Some radioactivity escaped. The tsunami flooded the emergency generators and that made cooling difficult. That led to said hydrogen gas explosions, normal fireballs like the refinery fire the media has been playing over newscasts of the reactor reporting. All these things are bad news and they make this impossible to compare to Three Mile Island, though the media seems to want to even though nobody died at TMI either.
The containment vessels inside have not been destroyed and therein lies the reason why this can not be compared to Chernobyl, either. Chernobyl, Commie engineering at its very best, had no containment vessel. Worse, it was a plutonium burning, graphite cooled breeder reactor. When the graphite exploded and blew off the shell there was nothing left. No containment vessel, no cooling, no shut down, nothing. Just a big, glowing neon Communist sign to failure at every level. We don’t have reactors like Chernobyl. Neither does Japan.
Diiachi reactors are US made/designed GE boiling water reactors designed in the late 60′s. That’s the good. When the quake hit they shut down per design. When the tsunami hit it added a whole laundry list of issues, but still, the reactors were already shut down. At worst it’s simply a matter of restoring some form of water circulation and keeping them cool until they discharge the heat from the discontinued process. This has already been done via salt water and boron injection. Very bad for the reactors. As in, they will never function again because of it. But even that is not the end of the world since these were 40 year old units slated for replacement anyway. It’s a big inconvenience for a nation that can ill-afford any further inconveniences at all. But considering other infrastructure was simply erased by the disaster, these buildings stand as proof of just how tough these plants are. And just how viable nuclear energy is. Especially in a world where the Greenies answer to every single proposal for ending Middle Eastern oil imports is not a well thought out solution but rather the word NO! screamed repeatedly at the top of their collectivist lungs.
What we can not afford now; what the Japanese can not afford now, is to listen to the media and submit to the hysteria they seek to create. The media wants to see more dead bodies because corpses sell reporting. The media wants to see a meltdown or three because that would appeal to the kind of left wing econuts who drive so much of MainStreamMedia and what passes for “news”. They believe they can give authority to the voices that are already starting to call for a halt to further nuclear energy development. people like Joe Lieberman and Russian group Bellona. Our economy can not afford this in conjunction with Obama’s drilling bans and open loathing of his own nation. Japan certainly can’t afford it when they produce 40% of their power via nuclear energy.
One caveat to all this. If the Japanese have indeed stored the spent fuel rods in above ground, water cooled tanks dependent on pumps that were destroyed then some bets are off. It’s still not a condemnation of nuclear power, though it will give the “Back to the Stone Age” folks a tool for even further hysteria. No, that would be a condemnation of some incredibly foolish people in the disposal end of the equation. It may make the situation that otherwise would have been contained and so viewed in the future as a bright spot in nuclear energy safety instead become the tool that prevents us all from putting an end to the energy terrorists of the left. I hope the Japanese did not make such a foolish mistake, for their sakes and ours.
Stuck on Stupid; Part…Oh never mind…
We’re in the midst of a fuel price spike. We’re watching Egypt repeat Iran circa 1978. A tiny minority called Union Workers are holding the tax payers hostage in Minnesota and elsewhere. Real unemployment is near 20% and real inflation is climbing. So they simply ignore certain areas of the economy in order to pretend it’s not. Gold and Silver remain strong while the economic pundits insist their time has passed. A president says he opposes homosexual “marriage” and then refuses to allow his cronies to defend the law that enforces his supposed position. And where is the media in all this? Silent, or Spinning it to serve the current regime and those minority special interests. Meanwhile the left tells conservative elected officials “You’re dead!” and the talking heads continue to bleat about the language of hate from…the right…
We live in a nation and a world turned on its head in the interests of political correctness, a misrepresentation of tolerance and a leftist agenda determined to make the US less than a world power. It can all be summed up in the concept of equality of outcome, rather than equality of opportunity. It can all be defined as blatant stupidity. But one example excels above all others…
If you listen to those who assume a right to tell you how to think you would believe at this point that Islam is a religion of peace. You would believe that their definition of peace is the same as ours. That Islam is nothing more than the Muslim religion and therefore not merely worthy of protection under the 1st Amendment, but demanding of it. We have no choice but to allow this thing into our nation and our communities because, according to some, it’s all about religious “tolerance” and, while Christianity must be at the very least ignored at every turn, we must welcome this foreign invader. It’s just a religion, and we have freedom of that, here, we must all remember.
Anyway, most Muslims are not extremists and Islam is by definition about peace. If you don’t accept that you are now tearing down the Constitution.
I have had my fill of this crap. I have had my fill of the stupidity that either buys into the above imbecility or thinks the rest of us will. Time for a dose of reality, and I’m going to keep dosing people on this until they get it or some group of peaceful Muslims flies a Cessna into my house.
Islam and the Muslim faith cannot be separated. The Pedophile Prophet’s amalgam of Christianity, Moon God worship and self-serving power trip is merely the officially religious component of the system of people control called Islam. Islam is a more even than a system of government. It is a complete system of life. Every aspect of the subject’s day is defined by laws, secular or religious or mashed up in a way they can’t be told apart, under the system of Islam. Islam the “governmental system” is powered by Shari’ah Law. Religious law. The basic rules of life for every Muslim…who is also a part of Islam…which governs everything when in ascendancy. Sharia’ah Law, and by extension Islam, does not tolerate freedom of religion or freedom of expression.
Shari’ah Law, ISLAM, is not compatible with our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Muslims, ALL Muslims who subscribe to their faith and the Qur’an, not only view our idea of freedom as one o our weaknesses to be held in contempt, they fail to even understand much of what we consider to be “rights”. There can be no such thing as a right if it opposes the Word of The Prophet. There can be no freedom outside the rule of Islam. And there we come to another key difference in understanding: Where Islam rules there is peace.
Where Islam does not rule there is and can be no peace.
Islam and its Muslim religious component are not “a religion of peace” in the way we think of it. They are not peacefully trying to coexist with or convert the unbeliever. Islam is peace because where it is, is peace. Islam IS peace. It’s peaceful because it BRINGS peace. No matter what it has to do to take control. No matter how many infidels have to die and no matter how the war has to be fought, where Islam intersects with the rest of the world is Jihad. Where the rest of the world exists is war. Where Islam conquers there is peace after the fact. Until then there can be no peace because the Qur’an and it’s Prophet demand the Infidel, that is you, me and everyone else who is not a Muslim or a Dhimmi, be converted or killed. However the faithful succeed in killing the Infidel, by definition, is honorable…and brings peace.
Do you begin to get it now? When they tell you Islam is the religion of peace do you begin to get what they mean by both religion and peace? Do you begin to see why Islam not only does not deserve protection under our 1st Amendment, but would not even tolerate our Constitution? What? What? Was November 2nd the end of the lefty world as they knew it? Did the sky fall? Did their heads implode? Is this more than they can handle? I’d suggest to Teddy that he find some more judges like that hyphenated twit in Oklahoma to do his dirty work for them over the next few months. He’ll live longer and it might actually work…better. For decades the “right” has been a group of ultra rich corporatists seeking to keep the people down. Except when they are beer-drinking, Christians who own guns and think the Constitution is really the law of the land. In other words, for the left, the right is anyone at any level who disagrees with the left’s racial and class based warfare politics. If you acknowledge the non-sequitur at all it’s only to call the person making note of it a racist. And yet you trot this right on out in two lines with not a hint of the humiliation you should feel.
There we arrive at the next problem with your piece…and you. You are the one fixed on race, Timmy. You define your entire being by race, color and your self-styled label of anti-racist. But to be an “effective” anti-racist, in other words to make money at it, everyone else must be a racist. You have to find it. Everywhere. Own a gun? Racist, Oppose Obastard? Racist. Want our rather ambiguous immigration laws to be enforced?

It’s about the issues now, Timmy, and those issues will be decided by conservatives from here on. Because you on the left can’t seem to progress beyond the hate that funds your comfortable separation from reality. Immigration Facts for Lefties
Let’s just start by defining some simple parameters regarding the immigration issue in general and SB1070 in particular. First off are some questions: Are all Hispanics bigots in the opinion of the left? Second, are all Hispanics felons? Last, does SB1070 do anything new?
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that even the lefty answers are predictable here; No, no, and yes. See, that poses a problem for the left in this “argument”. It effectively means there is no argument. What passes for debate is nothing more or less than race baiting and misrepresentation.
The reason for the questions is to establish exactly what we are talking about. First, we are not talking about immigrants. We are not talking about the opinion of only whites. We are talking about the prevailing opinion(yes, the majority, whether you like that or not) of US Citizens regarding illegal and eventually felonious invaders. The subject is US Citizens of all races regarding Illegal aliens of all races.
So the race card and bigot label no longer fly. They don’t fly with me and they don’t fly with ever more people daily. We’re just not buying it anymore just as the Race Card has also been maxed out. You can toss them around but the only thing it gets you is dismissal. Automatic and off the cuff dismissal by everyone who isn’t playing the same cards for the same reasons. That would be most of the nation, by the way.
Nobody is interested in having that debate any longer because it is nothing but a manufactured distraction from the issue. And a painfully transparent one at that. US Citizens, their color and creed not at issue except among those with an agenda, want these people to obey the laws or reap the consequences for not doing so. Those who have not obeyed the law need to go, and a state law modeled on federal law is one way to do it.
The only reason to oppose it is either you’ve got a Libertarian Open Borders slant to you, which is naive on so many levels, or you have a Dem Partisan hope of padding elections with a theoretically built in voter base. One that, despite a few claims to the contrary, is large enough to influence any race in the western half of the US. While the former might have some logic behind it if not for the massive Welfare State that draws in these Illegals, the latter is partisan thuggery at, almost, its lowest.
Otherwise? They are criminals and the US has immigration laws. Not even particularly onerous ones at that, which Citizens want enforced. Especially those Citizens of various races including Hispanic who got here by following those rules. It’s not complex and it doesn’t involve race. If it temporarily produces an economic issue in some areas, of which there is nothing but noisy anecdotal evidence from at least nominally pro-illegal sources, then that’s the price to be paid for failing to handle the problem for decades.
No rational person ever expected it would be fixed over night and without hardship somewhere to somebody. No problem this large and this old can be, but that is not a reason to not do it. There is no reason to not do it, except the foolish or the partisan one. Bigotry exists only in the minds of those guilty of one or the other.
Finally there is the law itself. It’s linked above but I’ll link SB1070 one more time. Leftists seem to have a problem with reading legislation before they comment, or vote, on it. What IS this law? It’s federal law given to a state by the state because of the miserable failure of the feds to enforce their law. There’s nothing new in it and the only thing new likely to come from it is enforcement of immigration law. In other words, Illegal Aliens go to jail. What a concept!
So what’s it not going to do? It’s not going to create a “your papers please” nation. It’s not going to target Canadians or create a police state(much as that would well serve the purposes of the Obastard Regime). Cops aren’t going to be pulling over cars for random stops because you’re eating a burrito. No unmarked units will be sitting up the block from Taco Bell like a bar on a Friday night, or the Chinese restaurant or NAACP local office, either(though considering the Panthers and the recent Tea Party-bashing maybe the latter needs it).
Despite the fear mongering of the left none of these things are going to happen. It’s not even going to get all the illegal aliens, either arrested or even driven out. But it is a tool to get, and keep, some of the more egregious offenders when they get pulled over and are drunk, unlicensed, uninsured, or caught after a robbery…or murder. Get them, keep them and prosecute them as opposed to the revolving door policy in place right now under federal “control”.
So where does this leave the left? It’s not about race and it’s not about making a police state and the only people who don’t support it are those who stand to lose something if it passes. Like, say, their free economic or political ride. In light of this it’s no wonder the left is screeching so shrilly. For the Citizens of the United States there simply is no downside and that doesn’t fit with current Democrat Party policy.
